Rhyanna Thomas

Associate

I joined Zacharias Vickers McCann as an associate upon completing my articles in Alberta, after earning my JD from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to law school, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Alberta, majoring in both sociology and psychology.

As a law student, I competed at the national Gale Cup Moot competition focusing on criminal and constitutional issues through the law of entrapment. I advocated before Judges of the Ontario Superior Court, Justices of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, and prominent members of the Alberta and Saskatchewan Bar. In recognition of my preparation and performance, I received the Judge D. Murray Brown Award in Appellate Advocacy.

I articled at a boutique firm in Alberta, during which I gained experience in civil, corporate, and commercial litigation, international corporate and civil law, labour and employment, wills and estates, residential tenancy, and family law.

Outside of the office, you can usually find me somewhere outdoors, whether that’s hiking, snowboarding, or camping with my dog. I am passionate about animal rescue and giving back to my community, and I am excited to plant my roots in the Fraser Valley.

The team at Zacharias Vickers McCann shares a fundamental passion for helping people and providing value to the greater community. I am proud to join this incredible team of talented and devoted individuals.
